Dr. Ruhi Jawad is a senior Consultant in Integrated Sexual and Reproductive Health with over 25 years of clinical experience in the UK. She has worked in the NHS since 1999 and now offers private consultations in general outpatient gynaecology, sexual health,  contraception and sexual health, bringing extensive expertise and a reputation for clinical precision and thoughtful, patient-centered care.

She trained in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Cork, Ireland, before completing her specialist training in the Wessex Deanery. Her advanced clinical training was completed at leading London hospitals, including Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust and King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

Dr. Jawad is a Fellow of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists, the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare, and the Faculty of Forensic and Legal Medicine at the Royal College of Physicians.

Her private practice includes care for female and male patients, covering:

  • Full sexual health screening and treatment, including partner notification.
  • Sexual Health issues and Contraception in LGBTQ .
  • All forms of Emergency Contraception.
  • Termination of Pregnancy support and guidance.
  • Cervical smear tests and HPV screening
  • Contraceptive counselling and provision (pills, patches, vaginal rings, implants, intrauterine devices, emergency contraception)
  • All coils AND Implants under Local Anaesthesia.
  • Management of menstrual disorders, including heavy or painful periods, fibroids, and endometriosis
  • Menopause and perimenopause care, including HRT and lifestyle support
  • Adolescent gynaecology
  • Diagnosis and care for benign gynaecological conditions
  • Support for sexual difficulties, with referral for psychosexual therapy where appropriate

Dr. Jawad has held leadership roles in medical education. From 2019 to 2024, she served as General Training Programme Director at the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare, overseeing standards and training across the UK.

She remains an accredited Clinical and Educational Supervisor with the General Medical Council and is committed to mentoring the next generation of clinicians.

Since 2000, Dr. Jawad has also worked closely with the Havens Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) in London, contributing to the provision of forensic and therapeutic care for survivors of sexual violence.

She is known for her methodical and compassionate approach, combining clinical depth with careful attention to the social and psychological dimensions of reproductive and sexual health.
